For the first time since 2009 the D1NZ Series returned to the streets of Northland, home to the infamous Team Driftcorp who have 6 D1NZ Championships to their name and a rich history with New Zealand Drifting. As such, the local fans swarmed at the opportunity to meet their favorite drivers including 2006 Drift King Fanga Dan, current 3x defending champion Gaz Whiter, and new young gun Robee Nelson. This was the penultimate round, the Top 5 Championship contenders were all visibly nervous and reluctant to talk about points and the title chase, most if not all had their mind set on winning the weekend and it reflected in some of the closest Top16 battles of the season, the Grand Final at Hampton downs is sure to be a spectacular finale! Episode # 4 is here and we're trying out the new Audi R8 5.2 V10 FSI Quattro '09. Like how this car drives and handles but even with the 4WD system I had a few tail happy moments (and mistakes). The car has some minor tuning running at 563BHP currently The lap itself there's a few errors again, again it's still the second half of the track that I'm struggling with some of the corners. Still searching for the perfect lap. The usual practice blunders included back using the bumper camera view also as I think It works best.
